Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Club, Rivers United have been in the Federal Capital Territory to gear up for the up coming football season. The Port-Harcourt side will face a number of amateur clubs in a tune up game in Abuja.
The Stanley Eguma tutored side beat Abuja based amateur side, City Strikers 1-4 in a test game.
The friendly games are a series lined up for the lads since pre-season preparations began on November 1 for the 2016/17-season intensifier.
Throughout the pre-season, technical manager of the club, Stanley Eguma has been overseeing the training session that involved 28 outfield players and five goalkeepers.
The training sessions takes place at the Area Three football pitch, Abuja.
Meanwhile, Heartland forward Emeka Ogbugh was spotted with the Pride of Rivers and is likely to join the club if everything works out well.
In Uyo, Heartland shot stopper Emmanuel Iwu was seen training with the Promise Keepers and is likely to land a deal with the Abdul Maikaba tutored side. The team will leave for Calabar on Sunday in continuation of pre-season preparations.
