Imo PCRC Kicks-off Anti- Cultism Campaign In Secondary Schools

Following the rate of cult activities in schools where young promising boys and girls are being cut down in their prime, the Police Community Relation Committee PCRC in Imo state last Wednesday 3rd of November, 2016 at the Government Technical Collage GTC Owerri kicked-off an Anti Crime and cultism campaign to sensitized and expose the avoidable sorrow, grief and lamentation by families or person who fell victim by suspected members.
In an address, the PCRC State Chairman, Mr.  Chima Chukwuyere  while speaking to students of GTC secondary school Owerri, enumerated all the devastating effect of crime and cultism which he said yields no positive nor tangible benefit, adding that no member of a cult group in our society have attained greatness in any field of human  endeavor.
The PCRC Chairman also stated that the crusade against crime and cultism in schools prompted the establishment of partnership with the Nigerian Police Force in the State and other Law enforcement agencies to tackle its intending menace from the roots.
Mr. Chukwunyere while appealing to all to “Say No To Crime and Cultism”, maintaining that if the PCRC Campaign is fully practiced, it will go a long way to sanitize the society, proffer formidable foundation for respectable future generation in the country.
Speaking at the event, the Imo State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Taiwo Lakanu referred to crime and cult activities in our society as a social bedbug and cancer that have become a thorn in the flesh of all contemporary societies, but with collaborated efforts, the scourge will be put to bear.
CP Tawio Lakanu tasked students in Imo State to reject cultism and disassociate themselves from suspected cult members, as members have nothing positive to gain and exhibit. He promised to organize a tour for students to visit apprehended Inmates at the police state head quarters, so as to further buttress the anti crime and cultism Campaign in schools.
