He averred too, that the secluded championship Instituted by Okey Eze will help in Immortalizing the name and patriotism of our late National Hero and legend Sam Okwaraji. This development according to him will definitely encourage our present, active athletes and will give them hope that upon retirement or death their contributions to their father land will not be forgotten or dusted to oblivion.
In the same vein, the Sports Ambassador explicates further on the need to remember other late veterans in Sports like Elkanah Onyechi , Isaac Nnado, Uche Okafor to mention but a few, who served the State and the country creditably and have all been forgotten .
Consequently, he called on spirited individuals, corporate bodies to borrow a leaf from Okey Eze and Immortalize our heroes through the instrumentality of Sports tournaments. it should be recalled too, that two years ago Hon Sir Prince Ogbonna in company of some sports lovers in the state, including ex-International Sunny Opara paid a courtesy visit to the family of late Sam Okwaraji at Umusioka Orlu, where he commiserated with the family and the aged mother of the late hero and financially assisted the family ; and equally did some to the family of late Uche Okarafor at the late hero’s Ubomia country home.
